A newly discovered flaw in Google’s Chrome web browser allows for the browser to be crashed with a specially crafted 16 character link and you don’t even need to click the link for it to crash the browser.
By hovering over the link, entering it into the browser address bar or click on the link – your Google Chrome browser will crash.
You may test this, but entering the following in your browser: http://a/%%30%30
This bug does not appear to have any security implications but it definitely is something that could be used in the wild to frustrate users more than anything else.
No word yet from Google on an update to resolve the issue.
