Chevrolet Introduces AC Cooling For Your Phone

Chevrolet has announced plans to introduce a personal air conditioner for your mobile phone to help improved performance, increase battery life, and protect your device from damaging heat.

The inside of your vehicle overheats very easily on a sunny day, phones can overheat and reduce the charging rate of the device. The new Chevrolet technology called, Active Phone Cooling, will help with this by keeping your phone ventilated properly.

Active Phone Cooling will be first available in the 2016 Chevy Impala, Malibu, Volt, and Cruze that are equipped with wireless charging.

Tiny AC vents blow cool air over your phone that would sit in the wireless phone charging tray, giving customers both charging and cooling. Please see the video demonstration below to learn more about this product.

  • I’m wondering if this could simply be accomplished by utilizing a phone mount in front of an existing AC vent 🙂

    • That’s hysterical. Did I read somewhere a manufacturer having a built-in mount? All they need to do is add a small vent to it, then we are set. I’m surprised this hasn’t been done yet.
