Android Stagefright Detector App Released for Download

During the Black Hat 2015 conference this week researchers at Zimperium showed off their new free app that allows anyone to easily check to see if their Android device is vulnerable to the Stagefright vulnerability.

Stagefright allows a remote attacker to take full control of an Andriod device by simplying sending a text message, without the recipient even opening it.

The Stagefright Detector app for Android is a very lightweight app which supports Android device versions 2.3.3 Gingerbread and up. After installing it and running it, within a few seconds it will let you know whether your device is “OK” or Vulnerable.
