Apple To Offer Mobile Phone Plans with iPhones?

There have been reports released by Business Insider that Apple is currently working on making wireless phone service one of its offerings for iPhone users.

Apple is researching the possibility of launch a mobile virtual network (MVNO) in the United States and throughout Europe. A virtual mobile network allows anyone with enough money to pay an existing or multiple telecommunication companies to sell phone plans directly under their own name.

The idea seems like a good one and would allow for Apple to sell its iPhone’s at their retail stores along with their own phone services. We probably won’t see this anytime soon however, analysts say it could be five years before we see Apple offering any type of phone service plans directly.

What do you think? How do you feel about Apple not only manufacturing your phone but also offering the mobile service as well?
