SanDisk Introduces WiFi Enabled USB Flash Drive

Sandisk has unveiled a new WiFi enabled Flash Drive that is capable of streaming files up to 8 devices with no cables or internet connections.

The new SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive comes in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB drives at starts at $164. Now, for potentially a limited time Amazon is offering the 64GB version for $64 bucks! Seems like a great deal to me, especially for this new product.

The internal battery of the flash drive lasts up to 4 hours of continuous streaming on a single charge but we do not know if this also applies if the maximum of 3 simultaneous streams are running at one time or not.

I could see this as being the ultimate “keeping the kids happy while on a long trip device”. You could load the USB WiFi stick up with your family tunes, movies, or shows and allow the kids to stream them wirelessly in the car to their tablets, laptops, or other devices.

The SanDisk Connect App allows for management of the device and is supported on iOS and Android™ devices; Fire tablets; and Macs and PCs – all via password-protected Wi-Fi connectivity. Available for download through the App Store, Google Play™ Store and Amazon Appstore for Android, the new app also enables other cool features like auto-back up of photos and videos from the camera roll to the drive.

We’ll try and get our hands on one so we can complete a full detailed review of the product. In the meantime, do you feel this new WiFi enabled flash drive could add value in your life?
