Unboxing The Schlage Connect Touchscreen Camelot Deadbolt Lock
The front of the box has a great illustration of what the Connect Touchscreen deadbolt lock looks like on the exterior of the door. It also prominently displays a Lifetime guarantee, which is a great thing especially when electronics are involved.

One side of the box also shows the interior portion of the lock along with some descriptions like how the touchscreen will still work in the rain, snow, or with gloves on. It also stated that up to 30 different codes could be configured on the lock giving you plenty of flexibility of access.

On the back of the box, it gets into the details about the built-in alarm with three modes; Activity, Tamper, and Force Entry. It also talks about how easy the installation is, using a screwdriver for the majority of installation is all that’s needed. We’ll see how easy the install process is, a little later on in the review but it all sounds great so far.

Lastly, on the other side of the box it talks about the technology around the lock and how it can be accessed from anywhere in the world using your own smart home hub like Wink, Iris, or SmartThings. It utilizes Z-Wave technology for communicating with your existing smart home hub which is very universal. It does not however, provide a means to connect to the lock without an existing smart home hub.

Inside of the main box you’ll find another box housing all of the components of the lock within.

In the box you’ll find to manuals, one is an installation guide and the other one is a user guide for when you get things installed.

Here’s a complete overview of everything that you’ll receive in the box, they even included name-brand AA batteries!

Here’s the back of the interior door lock mechanism. I imagine this plate will be placed against the inside of the door and fastened to the front lock.

Here’s what it looks like with the metal plate removed. You can see the electronics are beneath the plastic bezel and there is also a plug here for connecting the touchscreen lock to this portion of the lock.

Finally, here’s the back of the touchscreen lock which goes on the exterior of your door.
