Move Over Sit-and-Stand Desks, Here’s the Power Reclining Workstation

We all know that sitting too much is really bad for our health so Geek Inspector looked to the Ergotron Workfit-T standing desk which allows us to stretch our legs, stand a bit and encourage a more healthy work environment. But while this sit-and-stand desk provides great health benefits, standing isn’t always the most comfortable thing to do.

So on the very other end of the spectrum, we have the first reclining workstation that isn’t all bad for your health. Altwork has a unique reclining workstation that allows you to transform your workstation from sitting to reclining, in seconds.

The reclining position allows you to take pressure off of your back, neck and improves circulation from the sitting position. While you may not be burning as many calories as you would be standing, it’s still a much better position health-wise than sitting and MUCH more comfortable!

After five years of engineering and over $1M invested into the product, Altwork has launched the Altwork Station for $3,900 which is discounted by $2,000 for early adopters.

The chair itself, resembles a dentist office chair so depending on how you like the dentist, you may or may not like the AltWork station. Metal arms hold a laptop and a monitor screen or even dual monitors and then there is a tray for your keyboard and mouse. The workstation is 30 inches wide, 60 inches long, and weighs 210 pounds.

“We designed the Altwork Station as a tool for professionals who use a computer all day,” CEO Che Voigt said in a press statement. “The Altwork Station allows the people who are developing and designing our future to seamlessly sit, stand, collaborate, and focus at the push of a button, so they can work smarter and more efficiently.”

The Altwork Station is available now for pre-order and ships in mid-2016 and more information can be found at
