YouTube is finally expected to unveil its subscription-based ad-free YouTube during an event being held on Wednesday in Los Angeles.
The $10 per month subscription will allow you to watch existing YouTube content ad-free but also give you access to original programming only available to subscribers. It’s not known if premium and more sought-after content already existing on YouTube would be only available to paying subscribers or if new premium content would be developed. We do know that YouTube is working with broadcasting providers trying to bring them onboard and this could be where the premium content comes from.
The YouTube subscription service was expected by the end of October but now it appears that the date has been pushed into next year. All eyes will be on the Los Angeles launch event on October 21st to get more specific information.
YouTube did not immediately return our call when we reached out to gather more information.
