GameStop Announces It’s Black Friday Store Hours, Not Black Thursday

With Black Friday becoming Black Thursday, retailers across the country have announced opening their doors for the “Black Friday” shopping season on Thanksgiving Day rather than Black Friday morning but not GameStop! GameStop announced today that it would continue to be closed on Thursday so that customers and associates can enjoy the holiday time with family and friends.

“We believe strongly that our customers and associates should have the opportunity to spend the Thanksgiving holiday relaxing with family and friends, and not worrying with the stress of where to find the best shopping deals. We know this is in stark contrast to what many other retailers are doing, but we are taking a stance to protect family time during this important holiday,” said Mike Buskey, executive vice president and president of U.S. Stores. “For our customers who want to do a little shopping on Thanksgiving Day, www.gamestop.com and www.thinkgeek.com will be open all day and taking orders.”

GameStop will be opening all U.S. stores at 5AM local time on Black Friday and if previous years were in indication, I’m sure there will be lines wrapped around the buildings.

So those of you wanting to know the question, Will GameStop be open on Thursday (Thanksgiving) for Black Friday 2015? The answer is most certainly, no. Try again at 5AM the next morning!
