Microsoft Windows 10 Will Use Baidu in China for Search

Microsoft has more closely teamed with China by offering Windows 10 in China that will run Microsoft’s Edge browser using Baidu as its default search engine instead of Bing.

Baidu has over 600 million active users and Microsoft is looking to tap into those users with their new partnership. The two companies will work together in helping users upgrade to Windows 10 via a new distribution channel called “Windows 10 Express” that Baidu has offered up.

Despite the new partnership, Microsoft is not giving up on Bing in China but it will allow some flexiblity with search in order to get Windows 10 rolled out across China in the fastest manner as possible.

Currently Microsoft only has about 2% of the China Internet users utilizing Bing while about 92% utilize Baidu and the remaining using mostly Google.
